Not sure what to make of this other than a father passing on his legacy that he is leaving behind. It turns out, Romeo (Master P’s son) is relaunching No Limit Records as an all digital record company. Master P taught Romeo all the marketing and combined with his education from USC in technology and business, Romeo is about to start a whole new Hot Boys and Girls movement.
Romeo Miller is the President, his brother Valentino is Vice President (makes sense), Silkk the Shocker is CEO and Black Don (don’t know) is the Senior VP of A&R.
“I can relate to the new era of this music business. I have a lot of on-hands experience working with one of the greatest music company execs ever, my father,” Romeo Miller told AllHipHop.com in a statement released today.
“He [Master P.] taught me the marketing of this business and I took the time out to complete my education at USC where I studied technology and business,” Romeo continued. “I feel that I have the best of both worlds. I’m a hard worker with a billion dollars worth of knowledge and many resources. My goal is to build a digital hub where artists can become entrepreneurs and make instant revenue off of their music. My resources and I have created a technology to stop online piracy.”
No Limit currently bolster a roster consisting of Romeo (why not), Silkk (did he ever leave), Black Don (there’s your answer), Suni Blac, Eastwood, G5-J, Lil D. (might want to change that name), Gangsta and Bengie. They have a reality show in the works (who doesn’t), a cartoon series, mixtape, and a talent search. Hit No Limit Records Forever for more details.
No Limit ruled the airwaves and coast back in the 90’s as the flooded the market with album after album after album after album (you get the point). They helped Mystical kick start his career, kept Snoop Dogg relevant, made Silkk Da Shocker a star, got C-Murder with Monica, and had us all going “Bout It Bout It” (whether you admit it or not). Having sold over 75 million records, its no doubt that No Limit had a lasting impact on the record industry for years to come. Don’t believe me? Look at today with the flood of music we receive on a daily basis. It’s incredible.
I know one thing, with those unknown artists on the roster, those marketing skills should come in handy. Romy Rome has some work to do. Hey! Do you all remember when Master P quit rap to play NBA Basketball ? Lol. It’s true.
