Finding Nicki Minaj: Fan Launches Website To Track Her Social Media Absence

February 5, 2018 by deadendrap Leave a Comment

Nicki Minaj has been unusually quiet on social media in 2018. The self-proclaimed Black Barbie hasn’t posted anything since uploading a selfie to Instagram on December 30.

As expected, Minaj’s disappearance hasn’t gone unnoticed by her loyal legion of fans. One fan in particular, Nicholas Burrus, started a new website to track how many days it’s been since the Young Money rapper last posted online.

Burrus launched FindingNicki.com on Friday (February 2) after he and friend Morley recognized a prolonged absence from social media was strange behavior for Minaj, who is a frequent user of both Twitter and Instagram.

“When [Morley] was over at my house on Friday night, he looked at Nicki’s Instagram and showed me that she hadn’t posted anything since December 30,” Burrus said in a statement to HipHopDX. “He told me something like, ‘It’s weird. She posts all the time.’ I agreed because it was weird how she disappeared … Disappearances

Over the weekend, Detroit rapper Peezy was reportedly shot while in his hometown.

Details on the shooting remain scarce, but at one point it was reported that Peezy was shot in the head, and was in critical condition. A local radio station has since revealed that the rapper was not shot in the head (but was still shot) and is currently recovering.

“UPDATE: #Peezy was not the victim shot in the head (there were two separate shooting incidents). Fortunately Peezy is currently recovering well,” tweeted Detroit’s HOT 107.5 radio station on Monday (February 5).

Rae Sremmurd Reveal ‘SremmLife 3’ Triple-Album Plans, Drop “T’d Up”

February 5, 2018 by deadendrap Leave a Comment

Rae Sremmurd will be inspired by OutKast on their next go-round.

Mike WiLL Made It took to Twitter to reveal that SremmLife 3 will actually be a triple-album: two respective solo projects from Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee, Swaecation and Jxmtroduction, and the group effort SR3MM. The inspiration for this? Big Boi and André 3000‘s 2003 diamond-seller, Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.

w that being said, to all the true Sremm fans out there that know we drop the quality when we feel it’s right, never just for attention, “Sremmlife3” is FOR Y’ALL specifically.

A lot of y’all could be too young for this but this is where the inspiration for the Rae Sremmurd separate albums packaged together comes from. Idk if I was the only one, but

Busta Rhymes & Missy Elliott Star In Doritos/Mountain Dew Super Bowl Commercial

February 4, 2018 by deadendrap Leave a Comment

One of the biggest draws for the game — aside from the actual game — has been its commercials, and for Super Bowl LII the cost for a 30-second spot is expected to exceed Super Bowl LI’s total of $5 million.

So, I can’t imagine what PepsiCo spent on their minute-long commercial that aired.

Co-starring two hip hop legends — Busta Rhymes and Missy Elliott, the two were “coaches” for a rap battle… between actors Peter Dinklage and Morgan Freeman. With Dinklage siding with the new Doritos Blaze, and Freeman on the side of Mountain Dew Ice, the two would pantomime “Look At Me Now” (Dinklage) and “Get Ur Freak On” (Freeman).

Watch the goofiness below.

Hip Hop Week In Review: Grammy Awards 2018, Quavo & “Black Panther”

February 4, 2018 by deadendrap Leave a Comment

HipHopDX – This week in Hip Hop, the 60th Annual Grammy Award ceremony took place and the Hip Hop community let The Recording Academy know that they got wrong again this year. Also, Quavo was accused of armed robbery following at a post-Grammy party and the hype surrounding Black Panther‘s theatrical debut keeps growing.

Grammy Awards Gave A Lot Of Love To Bruno Mars, But Snubbed Others

Every year, Hip Hop seems to matter-of-factly let the Recording Academy know they are not in tune with the culture, and the 2018 Grammy Awards were no different. Bruno Mars took home the coveted award, Album of the Year, as well as Song of the Year for “That’s What I Like.”

Kendrick Lamar took home the most awards as a Hip Hop artist with four Grammys, including Best Rap/Sung Performance for “LOYALTY.” featuring Rihanna and Best Rap Performance for “HUMBLE.”

Kung Fu Kenny was also awarded
